This guide provides a general overview of each ECRISS user role and the permissions for each role.
To access your ECRISS platform, a user must be assigned an ECRISS role and permission to view data in a specific building or the entire district. A district’s ECRISS platform contains one or more apps. Districts may only want some users to view certain apps and may want to further restrict the available data within an app.
The combination of app access and building permission result in the following six distinct roles that are commonly used. Districts can make further changes within each app for specific roles.
ECRISS Admin
The ECRISS Admin role is the highest-level user role within a district. Users with this role have access to all apps that are turned on for the district and can view all students and buildings within those apps. The ECRISS Admin role is the only role within a district with access to edit the Strategic Dashboard.
District Leadership
The District Leadership role has access to all apps that are turned on for the district but cannot edit the Strategic Dashboard. The District Leadership role has access to students, teachers, and reports for all buildings in the district.
Building Leadership
The Building Leadership role has access to all apps that are turned on for the district but cannot edit the Strategic Dashboard. The Building Leadership role can only view students, teachers, and reports for their building.
Team Leader
The Team Leader role has access to the School Improvement, My Students, and Personalized Learner Profile (PLP) app, but does not have access to the Strategic Dashboard or Document Library. This role may be used to give SIP team members, counselors, interventionists, etc. access to the School Improvement app without giving access to the Dashboard and Document Library.
Teacher
Teachers have access to the My Students and Personalized Learner Profile (PLP) app. By default, teachers can only access students in their building. Districts may further restrict teachers’ access to only the students who are rostered to them.
Data Upload
The Data Upload role is typically a user account provided to the district by ECRA for the sole use of securely uploading data. Accounts with this role only have access to the Document Library, but do not have access to any reports within the Document Library. The Data Upload role can only access the Data tab in the Document Library, which is used to upload data files to ECRISS.
