The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and other national initiatives are expanding the definition of college and career readiness and calling for local school systems to craft a broader and more inspiring definition for student success. Measuring student success requires moving beyond standardized test scores toward a multi-dimensional and personalized set of indicators that empower students and accurately predict secondary and post-secondary success. As the adage goes, “you value what you measure”.
The Personalized Learner Profile paints a portrait of a student against a backdrop of a student’s interests, motivations, goals, and aspirations. It provides a robust data warehousing and reporting platform to identify and monitor individual students and engage students, families, and educators to ensure all students reach their full potential. Districts use the PLP as a next generation report card and transcript, which serves as the source system for outcome data to incorporate into the school improvement process.
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is about understanding who students are, not what they know. It’s internalizing that our biological systems are wired in a way that our emotions and interests drive our attention and ultimately our progress toward goals. ECRA’s social and emotional learning survey can help your district implement SEL policies by measuring SEL competencies at the student and aggregate level as part of a comprehensive whole-child monitoring approach.
ECRA’s process engages stakeholders around a portrait of a graduate that moves beyond test scores toward a multidimensional and personalized set of indicators that collectively capture a more modern definition of readiness. Our community focused process ensures student success is measured in alignment to the values of the community.
ECRA provides consulting and professional development related to best practices in the following areas.
