Two Target Areas to Cut Costs Without Cutting Impact or People

As budgets get tight, it can be difficult to know what to cut and what to keep to ensure cost reductions do not negatively impact students. Based on decades of ECRA experience, below are two areas to target:

• Right size your assessment system. Many districts have expanded their assessment systems over time and have redundancies that increase costs and decrease instructional time. This session will highlight typical areas of redundancy, that if eliminated, can reduce costs while increasing instructional time.

• Eliminate ineffective programs. Many districts have expanded the number of programs and interventions that support students at considerable costs with often no meaningful benefit to student outcomes. This session will also showcase an automated approach that evaluates every district program and intervention and quantifies its impact on student growth so ineffective programs can be eliminated, providing efficiency and increased student outcomes.
